IBENA – Statistics Center of Iran announced that annual inflation rate for country's households reached 38.7 percent in May 2022, which down 0.5 percentage points compared to previous month.
Increasing Point inflation rate of household in the country
Point inflation refers to percentage of change in price index compared to same month last year. Point inflation rate has reached 39.3 percent in May; In other words, country's households have spent, on average, 39.3 percent more than in May 2021, to buy a set of identical goods and services.
Point inflation rate of May has increased by 3.7 percentage points compared to previous month
Point inflation rate of main group of food, beverages and tobacco has increased by 6.0 percentage point to 49.4 percent and group of non-food goods and services has increased by 2.7 percentage point to 34.0 percent. At the same time, point inflation rate for urban households is 39.2 percent, which is an increase of 4.0 percentage point compared to previous month. Also, this rate for rural households was 40.1 percent, which is an increase of 2.9 percentage point compared to previous month.
Increasing monthly inflation rate of t country's households
Monthly inflation rate referred to percentage change in price index compared to previous month. Monthly inflation rate reached 3.5 percent in May, which is an increase of 0.2 percentage point compared to same information in previous month. Monthly inflation for major groups Food, Beverage and Tobacco and Non-Food Goods and Services was 3.3 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, monthly inflation rate for urban households is 3.7 percent, which is an increase of 0.5 percentage point compared to previous month. Also, this rate for rural households was 2.8 percent, which is a decrease of 1.2 percentage point compared to previous month.
